रक्षाबंधन का पर्व 7 अगस्त 2017 को श्रावण पूर्णिमा के दिन शुभ मुहूर्त बहनों के पास राखी पहनाने के लिए रक्षाबंधन के दिन सुबह 11 बजे से 1 बजकर 52 मिनट का ही समय है। यह पर्व भाई -बहन के रिश्तों की अटूट डोर का प्रतीक है. भारतीय परम्पराओं का यह एक ऎसा पर्व है, जो केवल भाई बहन के स्नेह के साथ साथ हर सामाजिक संबन्ध को मजबूत करता है. इस लिये यह पर्व भाई-बहन को आपस में जोडने के साथ साथ सांस्कृ्तिक, सामाजिक महत्व भी रखता है. रक्षा बंधन के महत्व को समझने के लिये सबसे पहले इसके अर्थ को समझना होगा. "रक्षाबंधन " रक्षा+बंधन दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है. अर्थात एक ऎसा बंधन जो रक्षा का वचन लें. इस दिन भाई अपनी बहन को उसकी दायित्वों का वचन अपने ऊपर लेते है.
